Mission

The Alabama State University Board of Trustees established the Center for Leadership and Public Policy in 1999.

From its inception, the Center has been charged with the ambitious goal of assisting in the improvement of the overall socioeconomic status of Alabama’s citizens and promoting greater cooperation and communication between academia and the community.

Through consulting, research and training, the Center helps policymakers evaluate current and past public policy as they develop future public policy.

The Center also produces symposia and conferences for policymakers and other leaders, enrichment and development activities for youths, and internship programs for ASU undergraduate and graduate students.
